Charles Gallacher trained as an actor and worked as one professionally for two years before moving into production in the commercial industry in 1984. He worked in production with Cinevision Motion Picture Producers for the first three years of his career in film after which he headed production at Philo Pieterse Productions for 2 years. At Philo Pieterse Productions his first producing partnership was with Paul Giraud who at the time was the country’s most sought after Director.
He subsequently opened his own production company and started Directing in 1990. In 1997 he resumed his career as a producer with Velocity Films where he produced the late Ricardo De Carvalho. In 1999 he started producing Bruce Paynter and in 2003 they opened CAB.
